here it is
Sitting beside the ocean... it smells so salty and nostalgic, just like I am five years old and on vacation for the first time. The sun gleams on the water, the sandy beach sprawls out underneath me. My heart is broken.
The sky is cloudless and blue. The voluptuous green mountains wrap themselves around white boxy houses with orange rooftops. The waves throw themselves onto the shore, rolling over eachother to be the first to crash. And my heart is still broken.
My sweet little girl sits beside me, her sandy toes slightly buried. Her big brown eyes beneath her red glasses, her thick eyelashes so long they press against the lenses. She writes in her journal and I in mine; we both squint away the sun's glare. I try to breathe it all in...this life...this beauty...this simplicity. I try to quiet myself. My heart is still broken, ever broken. I must prepare myself that it may always be so.

oh darby....you are so missed!
it sounds so beautiful there and yet sad.
hopefully with time you will be less home sick.
i miss you so much and wish i was more able to travel! those two babies of mine aren't the best travel buddies...and they do not pack light!
someday we will make the journey!
until then know from this side of the ocean you are greatly loved...and missed!

I want to sit on the sand with you to drink our coffee! I'll bring my bare feet inside my arctic socks when I come to visit...Is the slot from November 28-Dec 3 still open? Is it better to seek or avoid the weekend? I want to buy my ticket soon so i hope you read your mail here often! You are on my mind often and in my heart always.
