A New Song
A dear and good friend of mine suggested that I write the lyrics out to a song I recently wrote...so here they are: (Listen to the song here...)
Maybe there’s nobody out there who numbered the stars in the sky
Maybe there’s no one who holds in a bottle the tears that we cry
Maybe there’s no one to love us, who knows every hair on our head
No proverbial shepherd by whom a lost lamb could be lovingly led
I cannot help myself I lie awake at night always considering this
Could be there’s nobody out there but what if there is
Maybe answered prayers are mere coincidence and miracles misunderstood
Maybe I’m all alone in my weeping when evil seems stronger than good
Maybe there’s no one rejoicing when a newborn babe takes it’s first breath
No one to carry us home when we cross o’er the threshold of death
I cannot help myself I lie awake at night always considering this
Could be there's nobody out there but what if there is
What if there is someone who lives, someone to give me something I need
If they exist maybe they’ll find me before I run out of rope, run out of hope
Maybe faith is a delusion, an opiate to quell our fear
I’m really not sure how the answer for some is indelibly clear
I cannot help myself I lie awake at night always considering this
Could be there’s nobody out there, but what if there is

I check this site everyday, always hoping for a new post, but knowing that you'll post when you see fit. Today, I'm thrilled to read your latest song. Thank you for sharing it with us. The song gives a voice to thoughts that haunt many of us if we have the guts to admit it. In my opinion, the beauty of the song is that it describes those awful, true doubts, and at the same time, it gives hope. Amazing. Thank you again.
