In the Studio

It's been a long time since I've written...but I will start by saying that I spent all last week in a recording studio.

I am now playing with a band called The Casting Out...I play piano and sing a little bit...and we spent all last week recording a four song demo. It's really fun music, and I loved being in the studio. When I wasn't recording my piano or vocals, it was a lot of hanging out and listening...and I enjoyed it because the other guys in the band are really easy to get along with and fun to be with. It's just fun to play music with really talented people.

The guy who owns the studio is one of the kindest people I think I have ever met in my life. His name is Nick, and he really made the whole experience not intimidating for me. He's this really great dude, just really likeable and amazing at what he does.

At some point soon, I'm going to record my own stuff--the music I started recording two years ago, and some new songs I've written. I can't wait to record again. I feel so happy when I am recording music. I love it much more than performing, for some reason. I guess it's because there's no pressure...it's not scary. If you mess up, you just start over. And you get to see it all come together, one track at a time, until it's something really full and beautiful...something much bigger than what you expected.

The music is now up on the band's myspace...myspace.com/thecastingout.
