Away From Home

I haven't written lately because we are in Disney World. We are having a wonderful time together as a family but I am nearly going crazy because I am experiencing withdrawl--I need to get back to the piano.

I think I am addicted to playing. When I am at home, I sit down to play the piano a few times every day. If too much time passes and I haven't played, I start getting very agitated. That's how I feel right now.

It is very difficult to be surrounded by people all of the time and not have the ablility to get away by myself. I dont' know if everyone needs this, but I really do. For much of my life, I have been labeled as an extrovert, but I realized recently that I have only acted like an extrovert to survive. I really just mostly want to be alone.

My children need me at this point. They are wildly jumping from bed to bed in the hotel room, acting like Jedi knights. But I am next in line for the shower, so I am looking forward to that time to myself. It will last approximately 2 minutes.

Jedi down. Gotta go.

Which Jedi was injured... Han Solo, or "Orange Anikan?"

shoot...every time I read"jedi down" I start laughing.Um, I thought it was generally Orange Anakin and little anakin... There is usually more than one anakin and I am usually told that I have to be Luke Skywalker.

argh! Han solo is not a Jedi!

Actually it was little Anakin who was injured this morning. But now it is evening and the jedi's are asleep. Thankful, I am.

Speaking of Jedi's--guess who got a little brown jedi cloak today? He wore it all over MGM Studios from the moment he got it until it was time for the jammies.

Hood up and everything. And seriously, from the back he looked like yoda walking down the street. A few people actually thought he was the character Yoda walking amongst the crowd, ready to sign autographs.

when they saw it was our very own little dude, they started laughing. At one point, he started to have one of his famous melt-downs and Jason said, "Buddy, don't turn to the dark
side. . ."

Unfortunately this only made him more upset.

I had a dream the other day that I was a jedi.. I pulled out my lightsaber and killed my neighbors b/c they were freakin annoying me

Please tell me you have pictures of the little Yoda walking around slightly pidgeon-toed, weaving in and out between the hordes of electric scooters...And darby, I feel for you about piano withdrawel; last night we finally got to a hotel with a piano. It was horribly out of tune, but I was determined to play it anyway--just to feel the keys under my fingers. Anyway, apparently the military is staying here in Scranton (I know, I know, home of THe Office and Dwight Schrute!)as well. I got to the piano only to be looking up at someone who seemed to think he was Hugh Heffner with the red silky pajamas and everything. He wouldn't leave me alone, though I obviously wanted to play the piano--I finally asked him to leave...Anway, I do know what you mean!

he went to a Disney Princess Storybook Breakfast this morning dressed as,. . . a Jedi.

The princesses dug it. He even got kissed on the cheek by Ariel (and had the lipstick mark to prove it).
